대통령이 잘못했을 경우, 국민의 대표인 국회에서 책임을 묻는 특별한 절차가 있어요. 이것을 ‘탄핵’이라고 부르는데, 만약 탄핵이 결정되면 대통령은 더 이상 그 자리에 있을 수 없게 돼요.
현재 우리나라 대통령은 탄핵이 결정되어 대통령 권한대행 1순위인 국무총리가 대신 맡고 있어요.
그래서 나라를 이끌어갈 새로운 대통령을 다시 뽑아야 하는 것이랍니다.
우리나라를 5년 동안 이끌어갈 새로운 대통령을 뽑는 날짜가 정해졌어요!
바로 2025년 6월 3일! 마치 학교에서 가장 중요한 반장 선거처럼, 온 국민이 참여하는 특별한 날이랍니다!
대통령은 우리나라를 대표해서 다른 나라와 중요한 약속을 하기도 하고, 우리나라 안의 여러 가지 문제들을 해결하기 위해 노력하는 가장 높은 자리의 공무원이에요. 마치 학교의 교장 선생님처럼, 우리나라 전체를 위해 큰 그림을 그리고 이끌어가는 역할을 하죠.
우리나라는 민주주의 국가이기 때문에, 국민들이 직접 자신의 대표를 뽑는답니다. 대통령 선거는 우리나라의 주인이 바로 우리 국민이라는 것을 보여주는 중요한 과정이에요. 마치 우리가 학교에서 우리를 대표할 반장을 직접 뽑는 것처럼요!

The president represents South Korea and makes important promises with other countries. They are also the highest-ranking public official who works to solve various issues within our country. Just like a school principal, they draw a big picture and lead the entire nation.
Because South Korea is a democratic country, the people directly elect their representatives. The presidential election is an important process that shows that the owners of South Korea are the citizens themselves. It’s just like we directly elect the class president who will work hard for our class!
