여자 관노비에게 130일의 출산 휴가를 제공하고, 농사 세금 제도에 대한 대규모 여론 조사를 시행하는 등 백성을 위한 정책을 펼친 현명한 왕이셨습니다.

The Origin of Teacher’s Day
Teacher’s Day began in 1958 at a girls’ high school in Chungnam, where students cared for their ailing teacher out of kindness.
Later, in 1965, May 15th—King Sejong’s birthday—was officially designated as Teacher’s Day to honor the “true teacher of the nation.”
This day carries a deep meaning, encouraging us to follow King Sejong’s wisdom and dedication to education, science, and the well-being of his people.
King Sejong’s Achievements
King Sejong is best known for creating Hangul, the Korean alphabet, but his contributions go far beyond that.
He promoted scientific advancements, such as the invention of the Jagyeokru (a water clock), and implemented policies that prioritized the welfare of his people.
For instance, he granted 130 days of maternity leave to female slaves and conducted large-scale public surveys to improve the taxation system for farmers.
